Researchers once thought that the use of electronic devices among children and teenagers could not go up. They were wrong:
The average young American now spends practically every waking minute — except for the time in school — using a smart phone, computer, television or other electronic device, according to a new study from the Kaiser Family Foundation...
While most of the young people in the study got good grades, 47 percent of the heaviest media users — those who consumed at least 16 hours a day — had mostly C’s or lower, compared with 23 percent of those who typically consumed media three hours a day or less. The heaviest media users were also more likely than the lightest users to report that they were bored or sad, or that they got into trouble, did not get along well with their parents and were not happy at school.

I would say that i am probably about average. I completly agree with this. As soon as technology came into my life it got worse. Although it makes daily life much more convenient it also make everyone crazy. Dont believe me? Take a good look then
ReplyDeleteI think that i am average. I dont use computers too much but i do watch tv a lot. I am not sure that people become sad just by playing more video games or going on the internet too much. I think that increasing electronics is fine, because it keeps kids entertained.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that i personally think the use of electronic devices went up isnt that bad of a thing. Because if you look at it we now are using a lot of electronic devices here in school to so if thy think it is really hurting kids grades why do we use them at school too? Also if kids really want to do good in school they will but if they dont there gonna do what they want.
ReplyDeleteI am about average. It all depends what kind of electronics are being used. I think that phones are great because they allow people to communicate. The trend is positive for people who love technology, but the trend is negative for those who go outside and play becuase they wouldn't have anyone to play with.
ReplyDeletei am above the average most likely im always on my phone or my xbox or my tv so its deff up there pretty high. i think it is good well it dont bother me im doing fine in school so i dont care how much time i spend on electronics. there are all positive no one is dumb from it so whats the big dealio.
