Much of the video focused on education.
On one side there was the argument that technology and the distractions that it causes are having a negative effect on young people...poorer reading and writing skills and shorter attention spans.
On the other hand there was evidence that introducing technology into some schools has resulted in improved student attitudes, higher standardized test scores, and greater student achievement.
How do you think technology should be used in education? What do you think school will be like in 5 or 10 years in terms of use of digital technology?
I think that the use of technology in schools should be used sparingly because when you assign a project to do research on something, most kids are on other sites playing games. Even i do it sometimes after i reach a certain point of the project. I think that in 5 to 10 years technology will be a substitute to books and other references. Alos i believe that students will have their own laptops at school to do their homework and everything else on.
ReplyDeleteI think that schools should use technology as much as possible. It makes writing and researching much easier when you have the internet. I think that in 10 years there won't be any paper or books but instead everything will be on computers.
ReplyDeleteNo i do not htink that is shoulb be used in education because i htink that it will make kids really fat. I also think that kids will have no life and no friends because they will be so used to video games. I think that it is just a very dumb idea and it should never happen. If it does happen parents will bevery annoyed because there kids will never be hanging out with anybody
ReplyDeleteThe way we us computers and phones now, I think we should stay like this because it is easier to get a hold of people. I think that in 5 to 10 years should be good, because then if you are sick and not at home you could just email your teacher so you wouldn’t have bad grades, also if you have a computer to take class to class, you could keep track of where all your work is so if the teacher looses it it will be in your computer.
ReplyDeleteI think that technology should be used in schools it’s a good opportunity for students because pretty much every job you get into these days needs computer experience. I think in 5 to 10 years from now like everything and even schooling all will be on computers. By then most likely kids won’t even have to have to leave home they will be at home on computers.

ReplyDeleteI think that the video game idea for school is ridiculous, I mean it seems cool. Though I just don’t think it’s logical. What are you going to do when you go to college? Study by playing video games. If you use this tech. I don’t think you will ever be successful especially in college.
ReplyDeletealthough techonoogy is a vitial part of education young amercains.....we must find a fine ballance in traditoion and in the future and present. i belive that in 15 years classrooms of the future will become a avrage normal reality in the day to day life in students and their educators.

ReplyDeleteI think that technology and education go together like pb&j. It makes it much easier and convenient to learn without haveing to slave over books. In 10 years technology will be to great and robots will take over the world.
ReplyDeleteResponding to maddie rays comment, i agree with her. We dont necessarily need to use technology for everything. Half the students probably wouldnt learn anything and be on game sites anyway. So completely getting rid of books is not a good idea. But we should be able to use technology for research and things like that.
