This is a story about pirates, and how they are becoming a lot more active in recent years. Why would they become more active? What did the pirates do in this news story and what are the possible outcomes? Why the British Government would refuse to pay the ransom, is this a good or bad idea?

pirates are becoming more of a problem because over in Somalia people have no way to make money. The pirates talked about in this story kidnapped a couple on vacation while they were on their yacht. They wanted a ransom of 7 million dollars for their return. They say that they are fine and that the pirates aren't physically hurting them. The British government won't pay the ransom because they arent going to negotiate with pirates. I think this is a bad idea because if the pirates dont get their money then the Chandlers could end up getting killed
